It is no secret that Kia Motors is planning to update its lineup in India with its EV9 and Carrens Facelift. Another vehicle from the Korean manufacturer has been spotted testing in India which will likely be called Syros, a compact SUV likely to launch in early 2025. The Syros will occupy the space between the Sonet and Seltos in Kia's SUV lineup, strategically targeting a well-established segment. This new sub-4 metre SUV will lock horns with popular contenders like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Hyundai Venue. With vertical LED daytime running lights and headlights, the Syros has a bold, boxy design. This design approach is likely to give the Syros a distinctive presence on the road.
Kia Syros: Expected Design
The upcoming Kia Syros, inspired by the global Soul, features a distinctive design with tall pillars and an upright stance to maximize interior space. This results in a roomier cabin and increased cargo capacity compared to the Sonet, placing the Syros between the Sonet and the larger Seltos in Kia's SUV lineup.

Spy shots reveal the Syros' bold exterior, including a vertical LED light treatment that functions as both headlights and daytime running lights, flanking a clamshell bonnet. The side profile shows tall pillars for ample passenger space. The rear features unique L-shaped LED taillights on the pillars and a busy bumper with additional lighting elements. The Syros also sports 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and functional roof rails, drawing design cues from Kia's flagship Telluride SUV.
Kia Syros: Expected Powertrain
The Kia Syros is expected to offer a range of engine options to suit different preferences. Lower trims will likely feature a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine with 82bhp and 114Nm of torque, paired with either a five-speed manual or an automated manual transmission. For those seeking more power, a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine is rumoured to be an option, providing 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque.
