With the arrival of the Syros, Kia seems to have put one of its own under threat. Is that really the case, or can the Sonet hold its own?

Kia India attributes the latest price adjustment to rising commodity prices as well as escalating supply chain-related costs.

The Kia Syros offers two engine options: a 1.0-litre turbo petrol three-cylinder with 118bhp and 172Nm, and a 1.5-litre diesel four-cylinder with 114bhp and 250Nm.

Petrol variants make up 67% of Kia Syros bookings, with diesel models accounting for 33%. Automatic transmission variants represent over 38% of bookings.

The pricing for Kia Syros is yet to be announced, while the Hyundai Creta retails for between Rs 11.11 lakh and Rs 20.42 lakh, ex-showroom.

Bookings for the Kia Syros are currently open at a token amount of Rs 25,000, while official pricing will be announced on February 1, 2025.
