Chinese electronic company Xiaomi is one step ahead of the competition when it comes to innovation, and the A1 Electric scooter is proof of that. After manufacturing the coolest affordable smartphones and other electronic goods, Xiaomi is now taking the EV world by storm with this cute little electric scooter.
There are plenty of companies out there that are competing in the electronic consumer goods space, but, in recent times, no other company has stood out as much as Xiaomi. It has already established itself in the smartphone market and is making a name for itself in the home entertainment space. But it's plans do not end here.
Xiaomi has already entered the electric scooter segment and its latest offering is the cute, funky A1. The A1 is a tiny electric scooter that could very well be the future of all affordable electric scooters. The A1 is light, compact, comes loaded with cool technology, is incredibly practical and affordable. In short, a perfect solution for the current urban mobility situation.
The A1 comes in two variants. The first is simply called the A1 (just like the smartphone model they also manufacture), and the second variant is called the A1 Pro. The scooter weighs just 57 kilograms, which is very light for a scooter. However, the A1 also gets pedals. Now, it might seem like a daunting task to pedal a 57-kilogram bicycle, but don't worry, the A1 can cover 60km on a single charge. If for some reason you find yourself covering more than that distance, and you run out of juice, you can then pedal your scooter back home. The A1 Pro has a range of 70kms on a single charge.
The scooter gets a 16-inch rear wheel, and it will be powered by a 750W hub motor unit. Full details have not yet been revealed, but the A1 scooter has already been launched in the Chinese market. The batteries are removable and can be charged anywhere. We also know that the top speed of the A1 scooter will be 25km/h. The A1 also gets a single hydraulic disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
Another very cool feature is the full-colour digital display. In the A1 Pro, this display also gets touchscreen features and voice controls. There are an in-built GPS system and a 1080p camera that can record your awesome riding adventures in the city. In China, the A1 has a starting price of Rs 38,000. This seems very reasonable given the pretty cool tech it comes with. Either way, it looks like Xiaomi has come out with a very innovative product yet again.
