Bajaj Auto Limited will likely launch the 2023 Chetak e-scooter later this year. The updated electric two-wheeler is expected to get updates in terms of features and range. The Chetak e-scooter marked the automaker’s entry into the electric market at the beginning of 2020. The scooter hasn't been modified since its launch. Now, the manufacturer is all set to bring in the updated e-scooter with more range than that of the standard model. The 2023 Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter that could offer 108 kilometres of driving range on a single charge. Currently, the standard model has a claimed range of 90 kilometres per charge. Despite the increase in range, the expected e-scooter will still be behind some of its competitors in the market.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation, but we believe that Bajaj may have made software improvements to increase the range. Battery Management system (BMS) reportedly has undergone modification for optimised efficiency, resulting in an increased range. A 3.8 kW electric motor and a 3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack power the current Bajaj Chetak electric scooter. It has a top speed of 70km/h and includes two riding modes – Eco and Sport.

A few years ago, according to several industry reports on the EV segment, electric vehicles were reportedly in their infancy, and many buyers were still hesitant to buy them. However, with time, things have presumably changed with growing awareness of the environmental benefits of switching to electric mobility. Considering this, several manufacturers are now keen to enter the EV two-wheeler segment. Bajaj Auto Limited launched the Chetak in a brand-new EV version in 2020. The Chetak is an old but famous scooter from Bajaj, which was discontinued in 2005. Now, the model will likely receive new updates, offering more features to prospective customers.

As for the price, the current Chetak retails at Rs 1.52 lakh, (ex-showroom) in India. The upcoming e-scooter with an expected increased range and features may have a slightly higher asking price than the base version.
