The MotoGP Bharat Grand Prix will feature many of the sport's biggest names in front of an expected audience of over a million people. MotoGP Bharat GP: Marco Bezzecchi Lead FP1
In the first-ever Indian MotoGP, Marco Bezzecchi led the way in the prolonged opening practice session, followed closely by Marc Marquez of Honda. After Fabio Quartararo experienced two separate technical difficulties, Yamaha decided to bring Franco Morbidelli to the team garage as a safety measure. Takaaki Nakagami, riding an LCR Honda, was the unluckiest of the riders to crash in the gravel trap while trying to brake for the Turn 1 hairpin. The championship's leader, Francesco Bagnaia, came in 15th place.
At the start of MotoGP at the Buddh International Circuit in India, Bagnaia had a 36-point lead over Jorge Martin of Pramac. There has been no pre-race testing in the Buddh International Circuit, so everything is fresh. Riders have been playing video games to get adapted to the ex-F1 track's layout, which features 13 turns and several long straights, the longest of which is just over 1km in length.
