Williams’ Carlos Sainz topped the second day of Formula 1 pre-season testing in Bahrain ahead of the Ferrari duo Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.

Lewis Hamilton impressed in his Ferrari, topping a tricky morning session in Bahrain’s F1 pre-season test as cold weather and rain disrupted Day 2 running.

Carlos Sainz takes over from Sebastian Vettel, who retired from F1 in 2022 and stepped down from the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association (GPDA) last year.

Carlos Sainz joins Williams for 2025 as the FW47 debuts at Silverstone ahead of F1’s official 2025 season launch in London.

Atlassian’s branding will feature on the FW47 F1 car and be integrated into Williams’ operations, both trackside and at their Grove HQ.

Williams is Sainz's fifth team in Formula 1, and he made his public debut with the team during the official post-season test in Abu Dhabi.
