Tata Motors' Sales Drop 8% in February, Passenger Vehicle Sales Decline 9%
Tata Motors’ domestic sales dropped by 9.43% YoY, with 46,435 units sold compared to 51,267 units in the same month the previous year.

Tata Motors has released its February 2025 sales report, indicating a total of 46,811 units sold across domestic and export markets. This marks an 8.79 per cent decline from the 51,321 units recorded in February last year. The company’s domestic sales also dropped by 9.43 per cent year-on-year (YoY), with 46,435 units sold, compared to 51,267 units in the same month the previous year. Commercial vehicle (CV) sales also declined, reflecting overall market challenges. Despite this, Tata Motors expects growth ahead, with plans to expand its EV lineup, launch new models, and strengthen its market presence. The company remains focused on adapting to changing consumer preferences through innovation and sustainability efforts.
Tata Motors Sales Figures: February 2025
Tata Motors’ electric vehicle (EV) sales saw a sharp downturn of 22.82 per cent, with 5,343 units sold in February 2025, a decline from 6,923 units in the same month last year. Month-on-month (MoM) figures remained largely unchanged, as 5,240 EVs were sold in January 2025. Despite being a leading name in India’s EV industry, the automaker is currently facing reduced demand for its electric lineup.

On the other hand, passenger vehicle (PV) exports skyrocketed, with 376 units shipped in February 2025, marking a massive 596 per cent jump from just 54 units in February 2024.
Overall, domestic sales, including both passenger and commercial vehicles, dropped 9 per cent year-on-year (YoY), totalling 77,232 units, down from 84,834 units in February 2024. Similarly, commercial vehicle (CV) sales declined 7 per cent, reaching 32,533 units, compared to 35,085 units a year ago. However, CV exports rose by 14 per cent, increasing from 1,518 units in February 2024 to 1,736 units in February 2025.
Harrier, Safari Stealth Editions
Tata Motors has introduced the exclusive Stealth Editions of the Safari and Harrier SUVs to commemorate 27 years of the Safari’s legacy. The Harrier Stealth Edition is priced at Rs 25.09 lakh, while the Safari Stealth Edition, available in six-seater and seven-seater variants, is set at Rs 25.74 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). These limited-run models, with only 2,700 units available, feature a Stealth Matte Black finish and refined styling upgrades.

The Stealth Edition stands out with its dark-themed aesthetics, including a blacked-out grille, matte black exterior, R19 black alloy wheels, blacked-out badging, and a unique Stealth mascot. Inside, the cabin boasts a black leatherette dashboard and door panels with contrast stitching, while ventilated front and second-row seats in a Carbon-Noir theme enhance comfort – the second-row ventilation feature being exclusive to the Safari.

In terms of features, the SUVs come equipped with a 12.3-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, Map My India navigation, a JBL 10-speaker system with Harman AudioworX, ambient lighting, an integrated arcade app store, Alexa Home-to-Car connectivity, multiple driving modes, a panoramic sunroof, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

Powering the Stealth Edition is the 2.0-litre BS6 Phase 2 turbo diesel engine, delivering 168bhp and 350Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
