JLR India Retail Sales Rise 40% Year-on-Year to 6,183 Units in FY25

JLR India's lineup includes the iconic Range Rover family, the rugged Defender & Discovery models, the all-electric Jaguar I-Pace, and the sporty F-Pace.

Luxury carmaker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has recorded its best-ever fiscal year in FY2025, with 6,183 unit retail sales, showing a strong 40% increase year-over-year. The company also saw a significant 39% growth in wholesale volumes, reaching 6,266 units. The final quarter of FY25 proved to be a major contributor to the company’s success, with 1,793 units of retail sales, a 110% increase from the previous year. Wholesale numbers followed suit, rising 118% to 1,710 units.

The Land Rover Defender was the best-selling model in FY25, spearheading the brand's success with an impressive 90% growth. The locally assembled Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, fuelled by strong demand, significantly contributed to this achievement by posting substantial growth of 72% and 42%, respectively.

Mr. Rajan Amba, Managing Director, JLR India, said 'We are incredibly proud to announce our all-time best performance in FY25. JLR India has outpaced the luxury car industry with retail and wholesale growth of around 40% in the current year on the back of 81% year-on-year growth in FY24. This success is a testimony to our strong brands and a focus on ‘customer love’. and a product portfolio with unparalleled design, unmatched capability, and impeccable luxury.

He also added, 'Our locally manufactured Range Rover and Range Rover Sport have been a key driver of this growth, while Defender continues to sustain its leadership position in its category. The constant support from our retail partners and the commitment of JLR teams in India and the UK have been instrumental in driving this growth story. We're committed to continuing this momentum in FY26, driven by curated product offerings and exceptional client experience.'

Jaguar Land Rover India carried out a range of client-focused initiatives in FY25 to enhance customer experience. These included nationwide service clinics during the monsoon and holidays, which attracted over 2,000 participants, and flexible aftersales options like a popular 5-year Service Plan, now chosen by 20-25% of new buyers.

Additionally, the Defender Journeys, a premium self-drive program, returned and engaged over 500 clients across 45 routes. To further enhance the ownership experience, JLR India continued to expand its sales and service network.
