Skoda Karoq

The Skoda Karoq was sold in India via the CBU route and in very limited numbers. We only got the Karoq in one variant, however, globally, the SUV gets multiple variants which widens its market penetration. 

Skoda has teased the facelifted Karoq mid-size crossover-SUV through digital design sketches. The changes are largely cosmetic and the new SUV will follow the brands new family design.

Overall, the Skoda Karoq is a fantastic car. The only problem is that its overall design is not the most striking. And because of its high price tag, its appeal will remain limited. While it may seem like just another crossover, the Karoq actually offers tremendous performance to excite enthusiasts.

Skoda had brought 1000 units of the Karoq in India to start with and all have been sold out in just 5 months. Skoda is evaluating bringing more units to our shores. Carmakers are permitted to bring 2,500 units without the need for homologation

Under the skin, the Skoda Karoq and Volkswagen T-Roc are based on the same platform and feature the same drivetrain. But the T-Roc is far more affordable. So, how does the Karoq justify its price premium?

Brought into the Indian market as a CBU, the Skoda Karoq is one example of an expensive mid-size SUV. However, armed with a sprightly and punchy 1.5 TSI motor with a DSG gearbox, the Karoq seems to be quite an engaging car.

Right in the middle of the lockdown, in May, Skoda introduced three new products – the Rapid, Karoq, and Superb. We already brought you detailed reviews of the Rapid and the Superb last month, and now we’ve finally managed to get our hands on the Karoq.

Brought into India via the CBU route, Skoda has launched the Karoq in a single variant priced at Rs 25 lakh. The mid-size SUV is on sale with only turbocharged petrol engine and 7-speed DSG combination.
