The C5 Aircross Hybrid is powered by a 177bhp 1.6-litre PureTech petrol motor and a 107bhp electric motor placed on the front axle. Together, the hybrid powertrain is rated at 221bhp & 320Nm of torque.

Groupe PSA has taken the next step to show its continued commitment towards the Indian market by inaugurating a new technical centre in Chennai. Titled the India Technical Centre, it has been opened by PCA Motors India Pvt Ltd, a PSA Group company.

A Euro-spec left-hand drive model was put through the test – in the standard equipment trim as well as with the optional safety pack. The former scored a faultless four while the latter secured a perfect five!

Citroen has officially arrived in India (as Citroen India) and will launch the C5 Aircross SUV as its first model for India. All the models will be manufactured at Citroen India's manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

Carlos Tavares, Chairman of the Managing board, confirmed the Group will be introducing the Citroen brand in the Indian market with the first launch expected before the end of 2021 following the launch of production of powertrains.
