Nissan will take the wraps off the Safari Rally Z Tribute, a modified version of Nissan's Datsun 240Z, at the upcoming 2023 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada (US), scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 3. Paying homage to Nissan's victory&nbsp;in the 1971 East African Safari Rally, the Nissan&nbsp;Safari Rally Z Tribute is a one-off concept&nbsp;built by&nbsp;South Carolina-based&nbsp;Tommy Pike Customs, which also designed the Nissan Leaf-powered 1987 Datsun Sunny Truck and the&nbsp;2023 Nissan Ariya Surfwagon concept for last year's SEMA Show. This modified Nissan Z sports car will be showcased alongside a replica of the original Datsun 240Z rally car.&nbsp;

The retro-styled Nissan Z concept takes the form of a sports car and previews a modern take that is based on the current-generation Z sports car. However, it features several nods to the original design. The visual highlights of the Nissan Z include a red and black livery, a long bonnet, and auxiliary LED lights for extra visibility, along with&nbsp;a front bumper guard&nbsp;and skid plate attached to the nose.&nbsp;

<h2>Nissan&nbsp;Safari Rally Z Tribute: Interior</h2>

Inside, the&nbsp;Nissan&nbsp;Safari Rally Z Tribute gets Recaro bucket seats, a roll bar, and a 4-point racing harness. Besides, the car features a map of the&nbsp;East African Safari Rally course and some retro timing equipment on the passenger-side dashboard.&nbsp;

<h2>Nissan&nbsp;Safari Rally Z Tribute: Hardware</h2>

The Z comes fitted with a custom KW Safari suspension and a slew of NISMO&nbsp;parts to achieve a 2.0-inch lift over the factory ride height. The suspension setup consists of adjustable upper control arms, outer tie rod ends, rear mid-links, front and rear end-links, rear traction arms, and other components from NISMO. The vehicle rides on 17-inch Nismo Safari wheels wrapped in chunky Yokohama Geolander M/T G003 tyres.

<h2>Nissan&nbsp;Safari Rally Z Tribute: Powertrain, Performance</h2>

Under the bonnet, the Nissan&nbsp;Safari Rally Z Tribute is equipped with a&nbsp;3.0-litre&nbsp;twin-turbo V6 engine. While the automaker has yet to reveal the power output,&nbsp;Illinois-based AMS Performance has ratcheted up the stock Z Tribute, delivering more than 395bhp (or 400hp). Other under-the-bonnet bits include a twin-disc clutch,&nbsp;cold-air intake, carbon-fiber engine cover,&nbsp;heat exchanger, flywheel,&nbsp;coolant expansion tank, as well as a cat-back exhaust&nbsp;with laser-etched NISMO branding.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Nissan Z will ever enter production. It will be put on display at the 2023 SEMA Show alongside a replica of the Datsun 240Z that won the 1971 East African Safari Rally. The show will be held from October 31 to November 3.

The 2024 Nissan Z Nismo has finally made its international debut as the most potent Z car ever.&nbsp;This&nbsp;high-performance variant offers significant frontal upgrades over the standard model. The company claims that the Z Nismo's aesthetic tweaks enhance its aerodynamic performance on the racecourse and further enable it to generate positive downforce. It also includes a stronger engine, a distinctive design, and an improved chassis. Both the entry-level Z Sport and mid-range Z Performance versions come with a six-speed manual gearbox. However,&nbsp;this version has made its entry globally with a revised nine-speed automatic gearbox and a Track mode for quicker shifts. <h2>2024 Nissan Z Nismo: Engine</h2>

Propelling this new and potent Z is still a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre&nbsp;V6, however, Nissan claims that an upgraded engine oil cooler, greater boost, and aggressive timing have upped the engine's output to 414bhp and 384Nm.&nbsp;Compared to the base Z model, the engine now delivers an additional 20bhp and 34Nm. The sole gearbox available with this new high-performance variant is the nine-speed automated transmission, which according to the carmaker,&nbsp;has been reworked with stronger clutches, a new engine, and a gearbox tune, and further can shift nearly 50% faster than the base Z automatic variant.&nbsp;The automaker has also&nbsp;announced a&nbsp;Sport+ driving mode that is made to downshift so quickly that the driver doesn't even need to use the shift paddles.&nbsp;Additionally, a limited-slip differential with a clutch is used to transfer power to the back wheels.

<h2>2024 Nissan Z Nismo: Hardware &amp; Chassis</h2>

The company asserts in its press release that the new version's chassis has been improved in a number of ways to better handling. Increased&nbsp;torsional rigidity of 2.5% for&nbsp;more bracing has been added to the front and back of the vehicle. Further, the suspension has updated anti-roll bars, firmer springs, and retuned shocks. In addition, stronger bushings for the steering rack and suspension have been fitted.

The new high-performance model&nbsp;has two-piston rear callipers and four-piston front brake callipers, similar to the Z Performance model. However,&nbsp;the front and rear brake rotors on this variant measure 15.0-inch&nbsp;and 13.8-inch, respectively, and are held in place by heavy-duty brake pads.

The Z Nismo sits on 19-inch wheels covered in Dunlop SP Sport MAXX GT600 tyres. According to the firm, the improved design has made&nbsp;these Nismo-specific wheels much lighter even though they are 0.5-inch wider than the 19-inch wheels on Z Performance (10 inches wide up front, 10.5 inches wide back).

<h2>2024 Nissan Z Nismo: Exterior &amp; Interior</h2>

The front profile has been redesigned by the automaker to resemble the G-Nose on the Fairlady 240ZG, which is one of the most noticeable exterior alterations. To provide the engine with more cooling, the grille opening on the new nose has been modified and is now filled with a fine honeycomb mesh. That enlarged spoiler is boldly indicated in red. This variant gets Nismo logos and a black-painted roof. Also, the red stripe that extends to the back hints that this is the top Z model.&nbsp;Stealth Grey - a Nismo-only colour, Passion Red TriCoat, Brilliant Silver, Black Diamond Pearl, and Everest White Pearl TriCoat are the five paint schemes available for this car.&nbsp;

Moving to the inside, the&nbsp;Red dominates the colour palette of the drive mode selector and the internal anodised Stop/Start button. New visuals in the digital display flash a Nismo-only animation upon startup, complementing the red colour scheme of the exterior. A red accent mark has been added to the top of the steering wheel, and the leather and faux suede Recaro seats (which are only manually adjustable) now have a red centre and a Nismo insignia on the headrest.

According to market reports, the prices of this track-oriented Nismo variant of the Nissan Z will be made public in the autumn season of 2024.&nbsp;

In September last year, <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/nissan-z-proto-debuts-with-retro-styling-108414/">Nissan gave us the first&nbsp;look at the new Z Proto Concept</a>, which would eventually give birth to the final, production-spec Z sports car. However, the final version has been revealed today, and interestingly, it actually looks more or less exactly the same as the Concept.&nbsp;And now, we have the final specs to look forward to.

The 2023 Nissan Z, as it's called, will go on&nbsp;sale sometime next year (hence MY23) in two trims – Sport and Performance.&nbsp;While the base Sport models will have 18-inch wheels, the higher-spec&nbsp;Performance versions will be offered with bigger 19-inch wheels of the Z Proto Concept, along with a subtle rear spoiler. Bits like the retro LED lights, though, will be standard across the model range. Of the nine exterior colour options available, six of them will be offered as dual-tone options with a black roof.&nbsp;

Inside, a driver-centric cockpit features&nbsp;a 12.3-inch customisable racing-inspired instrument cluster, a&nbsp;9.0-inch touchscreen&nbsp;infotainment system, and sporty bucket seats, much like those found in the GT-R, which will be leather-wrapped. Of course, this kit will be offered on the Performance variants, along with an eight-speaker Bose&nbsp;audio system.

On the performance front, the Nissan Z draws its power from a new 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, which develops 400bhp and 475Nm of torque. The drive is sent exclusively to the rear wheels, using either&nbsp;an old-school six-speed manual gearbox paired to an EXEDY&nbsp;high-performance clutch or via&nbsp;a nine-speed automatic unit. The Performance variants will also come kitted with a rev-matching mechanism, launch control, and GT-R-inspired aluminium paddle gear shifters.

There is&nbsp;also 'Proto Spec' limited edition (restricted to just 240 units), which mimics the styling of the Z Proto Concept, courtesy of yellow-painted brake callipers and 19-inch RAYS wheels finished in Bronze.

The official pricing of the 2023 Nissan Z is yet to be announced, although Nissan claims it'll cost around the $40,000 mark (₹29.70 lakh approx.)
