The Japanese automaker sold 3,20,000 examples across the European market, making up a one-third share of its global sales. This is followed by 2.30 lakh units sold, each in China and Japan.

Nissan has revealed an updated version of its best-selling electric vehicle, the Leaf. Dubbed the Leaf e+, the new version gets a bigger battery pack, which results in more range per charge. The Leaf e+ goes on sale in Japan later this month, and it will eventually be available in the US markets.

Customers of old Nissan Leaf electric cars will be able to buy refurbished battery packs at less than half the price of a new one. Electric cars may be cleaner (to run) than conventional petrol or diesel vehicles, but their feasibility and long-term reliability are still unknown.
