2025 MG Comet EV Launched at Rs 4.99 Lakh in India
The MG Comet EV's Excite and Excite FC variants now feature a rear parking camera and power-folding ORVMs, enhancing convenience and functionality.

MG has rolled out the 2025 Comet EV in the Indian market, with a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers also have the option to opt for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which incurs a usage cost of Rs 2.5/km instead of purchasing the battery outright. Additionally, the company has refined the feature set to enhance the vehicle’s comfort and safety quotient. The updated EV is available in five trims: Executive, Excite, Excite Fast Charge, Exclusive, and Exclusive Fast Charging. Among the key enhancements, the Excite and Excite FC variants now come equipped with a rear parking camera and power-folding ORVMs for improved functionality. Furthermore, the Fast Charging variants house a 17.3kWh battery pack, offering a driving range of 230 km per charge. On the other hand, the Exclusive and Exclusive FV trims have been upgraded with a four-speaker audio system and leatherette upholstery.
2025 MG Comet EV: Battery Specs
Mechanically, the standard Comet EV is equipped with a 17.3kWh battery connected to a rear-wheel-drive electric motor. This setup delivers a maximum power output of 41bhp and a peak torque of 110Nm, offering an ARAI-certified driving range of up to 230 km. It has a top speed of 100km/h.

For charging, a faster 7.4kW AC option is available, reducing charging time to under 3.5 hours, whereas the standard 3.3kW AC charger takes approximately seven hours to fully charge the battery from 0 to 100 per cent.
2025 MG Comet EV: Interior and Safety Features
The two-door electric vehicle comes equipped with dual 10.25-inch screens, an illuminated MG emblem, a 12-volt charging socket, and a two-spoke steering wheel featuring pod-like controls.
In terms of safety, it offers a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, dual front airbags, and three-point seat belts for both front and rear passengers.

The hatchback is available in five colour options: Candy White, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Apple Green with Starry Black, and Candy White with Starry Black. In the Indian market, the MG Comet EV primarily competes with the Tata Tiago EV as well as the Citroen eC3.
