New Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE version breaks cover

The unique 'Graffiti' livery of the Hypermotard 950 RVE is inspired by the Hypermotard 950 Concept shown at the 2019 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d’Este.

Ducati has pulled the covers off the new Hypermotard 950 RVE version that sits between the standard Hypermotard 950 & the top-spec Hypermotard 950 SP. The RVE version though may come across as a bit similar, and there's a good reason behind it.

At the 2019 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d’Este, an original Hypermotard 950 Concept, built by Centro Stile Ducati, had won top honours in the 'Concept Bikes: New Design & Prototypes by Manufacturers & Independents' category. The Hypermotard 950 RVE, in essence, is the production-spec version of the 2019 Hypermotard 950 Concept bike.

The Hypermotard 950 RVE's key highlight is the street art-inspired 'Graffiti' livery that follows a painstaking process of using super-thin decals. The end result is comparable to that of an airbrushed bodywork. Though the paint scheme has been borrowed from the Concept bike, the Hypermotard 950 RVE does feature some design changes, such as black-finish front forks, an exposed trellis rear frame and a standard engine cover.

Apart from the unique paint scheme, the Hypermotard 950 RVE's electronic package includes the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up and Down EVO as standard. Other standard features of the electronics package, like the Bosch Cornering ABS (with Slide by Brake function), Ducati Traction Control Evo (DTC EVO) & Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, remain unchanged.

Mechanically, there are no changes. Like the standard model, the Hypermotard 950 RVE is powered by the same twin-cylinder 937cc Testastretta 11° engine that develops 113bhp & 96Nm of torque.
