Mercedes Amg W14 Upgrades

Since introducing a significant upgrade package in Monaco last month, Mercedes has been on a roll. In Spain, Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell earned the team's first double podium result of the 2023 season.

Toto Wolff has disclosed that another important change will be made to the Mercedes W14 during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Following 18 months of trouble since the introduction of the ground-effect vehicles in January 2022, Mercedes realised it needed a change of direction in Bahrain.

In Monaco, Wolff said his team was "flattered" by the late rain since they were able to time their pit stops well and gain ground on Ferrari. Moreover, he admitted that, as their W14 features so many new components, they still have a lot to discover about its performance.

Mercedes will run their newest upgrades in this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix despite concerns that they won't be effective on the narrow street course of Monaco where overtaking is very difficult.

After the postponement of the Grand Prix in Emilia Romagna, the Brackley-based team suggested that the big modifications will be unveiled in Monte Carlo. The new Mercedes sports a sidepod that looks like the one on the championship-leading Red Bull.

Mercedes hopes that the improvements it makes in Imola will shed light on where the team went wrong with its current Formula 1 car, which is generally difficult to drive. The major upgrade includes changes to the sidepod, floor, and front suspension.
