Following the A6 Avant's recent global debut, Audi has provided an early look at the rear of the A6 sedan, which is scheduled to be fully revealed on April 15, 2025. The teaser shows a continuous LED light bar and OLED taillights, similar to its estate counterpart. Although the complete design is under wraps, the sedan is expected to mirror the Avant's front-end design and interior, including its angular headlights, a large grille, flared fenders, multi-display dashboard, and features like a premium sound system and driver-assistance systems.

For the uninitiated, the newly unveiled Audi A6 Avant is touted as the most aerodynamically refined model in its segment. With a drag coefficient of just 0.25, this meticulously crafted vehicle offers both superior efficiency and enhanced performance. Deliveries in Europe are set to begin in late May, with the base four-cylinder model priced at around USD 61,000 (approximately Rs 53.24 lakh).

The A6 sedan is expected to follow later in the year, and U.S. availability is slated for 2026, with pricing likely starting in the low USD 60,000 range (around Rs 52.37 lakh). Alongside the V6 option, a higher-performance four-cylinder variant may also make its debut.

New Audi A6 Sedan: Powertrain

While official powertrain specifications are yet to be confirmed, the upcoming A6 sedan is anticipated to share engine options with the A6 Avant, which offers 201bhp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engine options in Europe.

The US-bound Avant is expected to utilise a 362bhp 3.0-litre turbo V6 with quattro all-wheel drive and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. This mild-hybrid setup, including a 1.7kWh battery and belt-driven starter-alternator, enables brief electric driving, energy recuperation, and a 24bhp/230Nm boost. Performance varies, with the V6 hitting 100km/h in 4.7 seconds, while the 2.0-litre gasoline version takes 8.3 seconds.
