Land Rover’s Defender D7X-R begins testing in the Sahara Desert for Dakar 2026. The brand confirms Peterhansel and Baciuska as a part of its Dakar Rally lineup.

The Land Rover Classic Defender V8 Soft Top features a 5.0-litre V8 engine producing 400bhp and 515Nm of torque, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

JLR India's lineup includes the iconic Range Rover family, the rugged Defender & Discovery models, the all-electric Jaguar I-Pace, and the sporty F-Pace.

The Land Rover Defender Octa packs a 626bhp 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and is equipped with a rugged 6D Dynamics suspension system.

Land Rover has yet to announce the powertrain for its Dakar Rally entry. However, the Defender is built on the robust D7X aluminium platform.
