Kia Carens MPV Crosses 2 Lakh Unit Sales Milestone in India; Top Variants Account for 24% of the Demand
The Sonet and Seltos led Kia’s February sales with 7,598 and 6,446 units, respectively, while the Carens made a strong contribution with 5,318 units, reflecting its rising popularity.

The Kia Carens has sold over 2 lakh units since its launch in February 2022. The MPV’s top trims have seen strong demand, accounting for 24% of total sales. Kia attributes the popularity of these trims to premium features like a sunroof, multi-drive modes, ventilated seats, and Kia Connect. The petrol-powered Carens captured significant customer interest, comprising 58% of total sales, while diesel variants accounted for 42%. Additionally, 32% of buyers preferred the convenience of Automatic or iMT transmissions. While 28% of customers opted for sunroof-equipped variants, the 7-seater models dominated, making up 95% of total sales.
The Sonet and Seltos, Kia’s top-selling models, were major drivers of the company’s February sales, with 7,598 and 6,446 units sold, respectively. Kia Carens: Features
The Kia Carens has several premium features, such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, auto AC with rear vents, ambient lighting, and a 10.25-inch digital driver display. It is also equipped with rain-sensing wipers, ventilated front seats, and a single-pane sunroof.

In terms of safety, the Carens offers a comprehensive suite of features, including ISOFIX child seat anchors, front and rear parking sensors, 6 airbags as standard, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Kia Carens: Powertrain
The Kia Carens offers three engine choices: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (113bhp/144Nm) with a 6-speed manual, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol (158bhp/253Nm) available with a 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT, and a 1.5-litre diesel (114bhp/250Nm) paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
