Lamborghini Huracán Sold Out Until 2024

After its 9-year long production run, the Lamborghini Huracán super SUV is no longer available for purchase. The sports car marked its global debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show and was called the Huracán LP610-4.

Lamborghini Huracan

Lamborghini's second best-selling model, the Huracán, has been sold out, and its bookings have been closed. After its 9-year long production run, the super SUV, the company says, is no longer available for purchase. 2024 onwards, the V10-powered vehicle will no longer be produced by Lamborghini. While the carmaker did not give out the exact date, it has plans to pull the plug on the Huracán SUV at some point in 2024. This also means that the company will no longer develop naturally aspirated V10 engines that power the Huracán. The Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 marked its global debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, and later came the Sterrato in December 2022, which was the final version of the Huracán. However, it does not imply that the Italian manufacturer will not roll out more editions of the Huracán before ending its production. It could meet with the same fate as the Aventador, the brand's flagship V12 model. As we know, the Invencible Coupe and the Autentica Roadster were introduced at a time when the LP 780-4 Ultimae was believed to be the brand's final vehicle to feature a V12 engine.

Lamborghini Huracán's Successor

To fill a void in the supercar segment, Lamborghini will certainly come up with a new supercar by the end of 2024 as has been officially confirmed. In the Huracán's place, the manufacturer is evaluating the plug-in hybrid version, and the speculations are rife that the new car will use a V8 turbocharged engine for its internal-combustion component. For transmission, the successor model will use an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic similar to the Revuelto. The Urus is also slated to adopt a plug-in hybrid powertrain setup in the first half of 2024, while the Revuelto already has one.

Lamborghini Huracán: A Brief History

Huracan EVO SPYDER

Lamborghini announced the Gallarado's successor in the form of the Huracán LP 610-4, which made its global debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The Huracán LP610-4 made its way into our market in September 2014. Launched at Rs 3.34 crore (ex-showroom), it is claimed to have a top speed of about 325km/h and can sprint from a halt to 100km/h in 3.2 seconds. Under the hood, the Huracán LP610-4 gets a new 5.2-liter V10 engine that pushes out 602bhp at 8,250 rpm and 560 Nm of torque at a high 6,500 rpm.

The Sterrato was the final version of the Huracán, which was revealed late last year at the 2022 Art Basel in Miami Beach. The off-road-capable sports car is equipped with most of the features and technology that the Huracan Evo gets. The Evo arrived in the home market in the year 2019 as a replacement to the old Huracán LP610-4. There were some speculations that the Huracan Tecnica could be the last Huracán to roll out of Sant'Agata Bolognese, but the Sterrato defied that claim and made its market entry in December 2022 as the Huracán's final version.

Lamborghini Cars: Q1 2023 sales results

In recent news, Lamborghini reported its best-ever sales results for the first quarter of 2023. Between the period of January and March 2023, the Italian supercar manufacturer sold over 2,623 units of passenger vehicles. The comparison stands 84 units higher than what the company sold in the first quarter of the previous year. According to Lamborghini, the Urus played a significant role in the growth in the sales numbers as it became the most sold model with 1,599 units. After the Urus, the Huracán emerged as the brand's second best-selling model. The Huracán will be the last purely naturally-aspirated V10 Lamborghini to be produced in Sant'Agata Bolognese, marking the end of V10 engines.
