Lamborghini unveils Huracan Tecnica

The Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica is a step up from the Huracan Evo but isn't as hard-edged as the more track-focused STO. The Tecnica could also be the last version of the Huracan before it is replaced with an all-new, electrified model.

The Huracan Tecnica could be the final iteration of the Huracan.

Lamborghini is not one to shy away from constantly updating its models. We’ve already seen the Huracan Performante, the Evo, and the STO, and now we have the Tecnica. The Tecnica borrows the engine directly from the STO and gets revised styling and trick aero.

What the Evo did with the Performante’s engine, the Tecnica does it with that of the STO. The 5.2-litre nat-asp V10 makes 622bhp and 565Nm, which is sent exclusively to the rear wheels via a seven-speed DCT. Since the Huracan is set to be replaced by an all-new electrified model, this might just be the 5.2-litre V10's final assignment – without an extra push from an electric motor, at least.

Even without e-motors, though, performance is as brisk as you’d expect – it has a 0 to 100km/h time of 3.2 seconds. Plus, the Tecnica should also be pretty handy around corners, thanks to the reworked aero, including a new wing, which gives it 35% more downforce than the Evo, with 20% less drag.

There’s also the LDVI (Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata) system, which controls electronics like traction control and torque vectoring system, as well as the rear-wheel steering, to essentially alter the Tecnica’s characteristics, depending on the driving mode and real-time situation.

Huracan Tecnica Interior

In terms of design, the Tecnica’s front end gets a Sian-inspired bumper, a new rear wing, and new 20-inch rims. The Tecnica is also slightly longer than the Evo. Inside, the Tecnica gets more creature comforts than the STO and has a central console with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Alexa integration.

Huracan Tecnica Side Profile

The Huracan Tecnica is not a limited-run model, so it will eventually make its way to India and slot in between the Evo and STO in the line-up. Expect its prices to start around the Rs 5 crore mark.
