Lamborghini Huracan

The Lamborghini Huracan successor will premiere on August 16 during the Monterey Car Week. Internally codenamed '634', it gets a twin-turbo V8 engine with 789bhp, which is more than the Huracan's naturally aspirated V10 engine, even in an extreme STO avatar. However, the major talking point is that the new 4.0-litre V8 engine with 729Nm of torque redlines at a screaming 10,000rpm, usually the domain of racing cars. That much we already know. But, going by a teaser video released recently by the automaker, the V8 engine in the upcoming Lamborghini 'super sports car' apparently revs past 10,000rpm, higher than initially announced. There is a possibility that the production-spec model may have a 10,000rpm redline.

Unlike the Huracan, the Huracan replacement does not employ a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine. To refresh your memory, it features a plug-in hybrid V8 setup, including three electric motors, an internal combustion engine, and an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann says the vehicle will offer a combined power output of more than 876bhp (900CV). Despite this, the power will still be less than that of the company's new flagship Revuelto, which makes over 1,000bhp.

Lamborghini Huracan Successor: Design

Per spy shots, the Huracan successor will get a more streamlined headlamp setup including two projector units, hexagon-shaped LED DRLs on the bumper's lower side, and an extra set of lights on either side of the radiator. In profile, the car is likely to feature new alloys, while the rear end could sport a high-mounted stop lamp, a single-tip central exhaust, a redesigned rear bumper with a big diffuser, slim LED taillights, and engine cover vents.

Lamborghini Huracan Successor: Features

Though the details regarding the interior are still under wraps, it is anticipated that the cabin will mimic the Revuelto and house an 8.4-inch vertical touchscreen in the centre, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel display, a 9.1-inch display for the passenger, as well as a steering wheel with 4 knobs that the car owner can use for selecting 13 driving modes.

Rumoured to be called the Lamborghini Temerario, the Huracan Successor will be the Italian company's third plug-in hybrid supercar upon arrival, after the Revuelto and the Urus SE. As for pure electric vehicles, Lamborghini plans to unveil the Lanzador in 2028, followed by the second-generation, all-electric Urus in 2029.
