Force Urbania Revealed

Force Urbania is the first car in its class to provide driver airbags with crash and rollover compliance.

Force Motors, the Indian manufacturer based in Pune, debuted the Urbania van on Tuesday, with prices beginning at ₹28.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The price of the 13-seat medium-wheelbase (3615mm) variant is ₹28.99 lakh, while the 17-seat long-wheelbase (4400mm) variant costs ₹31.25 lakh. The short wheelbase (3350mm) model, which accommodates ten people (excluding the driver), costs ₹29.50 lakh.

The new Force Urbania platform, code-named T1N, was unveiled at the Dealers Meet in Indore, where a few select dealers from India and abroad were invited for a plant tour and test drives. The new cutting-edge manufacturing facilities built for the platform have already started serial production. The initial batch of vehicles will be delivered to dealerships very soon.

A Mercedes-derived diesel engine, which powers the new Urbania, is rated to produce 350Nm of peak torque and 113bhp of maximum power at 1,400 – 2,200rpm. Suspension duties are taken care of by transverse springs, which offer a better ride and handling experience.

The van's exterior highlights include projector headlamps, signature tail lamps, which use light guidance technology, and daytime running DRLs. It has a 2-box construction and modular monocoque architecture. Additionally, the van's safety net includes sizable vented disc brakes on each of its four wheels, along with ESP, ABS, EBD, and ETDC.

In order to enhance, refine, and validate the platform, which has been created in India, the Force Motors team engaged in significant consultation with top technology professionals and subject matter experts from across the globe, particularly from Italy, Spain, the UK, Germany, Japan, and the USA.
