Cost Cap

The Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) has officially declared that all ten participating Formula 1 teams have shown compliance with the cost limit regulations for the 2022 season, and no instances of non-compliance have been identified.

The cost cap serves primarily as a safety net to ensure that enough teams remain to fill out a grid, but it also marks an overdue attempt to level the playing field. Before the Hungarian Grand Prix, rumours circulated that three teams could have gone over their budget for the 2022 season.
