After the BMW iX all-electric SUV, the brand is planning&nbsp;to launch a four-door all-electric sedan. BMW India has confirmed the launch of the new i4 Gran Coupe, which is likely to happen in the coming months.

After the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/bmw/ix/">BMW iX</a> all-electric SUV, BMW will launch the i4 Gran Coupe in India. <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/bmw/">BMW</a> India has confirmed that the i4 Gran Coupe will make its India debut next year, most likely in the Q1 of 2022.

In the international markets, the i4 Gran Coupe is sold in two variants. The lower eDrive 40 variant gets a single-motor setup, mounted on the rear axle, and puts out 335bhp and 430Nm of torque, allowing it to do&nbsp;the 0 – 100km/h dash in 5.7 seconds.

The i4 Gran Coupe is also available in the M50 variant, which is the more athletic of the two. The M50 variant gets a dual-motor setup, which translates into an all-wheel-drive layout. The combined power output of this variant is 536bhp and 795Nm.

Both variants feature an 83.9kWh battery pack. The claimed range for the lower eDrive 40 variants is 590km, whereas the M50 variant has a claimed range of 510km (claimed).

The BMW i4 Gran Coupe M50 is likely to be priced above the BMW iX. The key rivals to the BMW i4 Gran Coupe will be the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/audi/e-tron-gt/">Audi e-tron GT</a> and <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/porsche/taycan/">Porsche Taycan</a>. However, the lower variant of the BMW i4 Gran Coupe is likely to be priced aggressively, which will position it in a segment of its own.

BMW has taken the wraps off its i4 Gran Coupe, a four-door all-electric sedan, and has confirmed that the new i4 will enter the international market in the coming months. And going by the growing rate of EV (Electric Vehicle) acceptance in our nation, BMW India just might consider bringing the new BMW i4 Gran Coupe to our market.

So far, the German marque has been quiet about the majority of its details&nbsp;but has confirmed that a full unveiling will follow soon. What’s known is the power figure, which is rated at 522bhp, allowing the electric sedan to sprint from 0 to 100kmph in just 4 seconds. What’s exciting is that the 2021 i4 will have a sibling that will undergo ‘M Performance’ treatment, which would most likely be the choice of enthusiasts. While the battery and motor figures haven't been disclosed, BMW says that the variant with the highest range will do 590km in one full charge.

So far, BMW has showcased the exterior of the car, while interior shots have been saved for later.&nbsp;The i4's styling seems to be in line with the new BMW M3 and M4 models. The larger vertical grille, flanked by air-dams on either side, takes centre stage. Following the design of Gran Coupes, the i4 gets a sloping roof-line and a raised boot, which meet at the C-pillar. The design of the tail of the i4 has been adopted from the recently launched BMWs. The M Performance variant of the i4 Gran Coupe could&nbsp;sport different styling bits.
