The entry-level BMW 3 Series, earlier available as a diesel-powered version, is now on sale as a petrol-only variant.

BMW had launched the seventh-generation 3 Series in India last year. At that time, the car was up for grabs in three variants – 320d Sport, 320d Luxury Line and the 330i M Sport. Now though, BMW India has silently changed the 320d Sport to the 330i Sport, which means the entry-level 3 Series is now on sale with the brand's 2.0-litre 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol motor (255bhp & 400Nm). The 330i Sport is priced at ₹41.70 lakh (₹30,000 more than the old 320d Sport). The prices of the remaining two variants (320d Luxury Line & 330i M Sport) have also been revised – the 320d Luxury Line now costs ₹47.50 lakh and the 330i M Sport carries a price tag of ₹48.50 lakh (a revision of ₹60,000). All figures are ex-showroom.

Over the top-spec 330i M Sport, the 330i Sport misses out on goodies like the M Sport character pack, BMW Individual Headliner, ambient lighting, sports seats, Live Cockpit Professional (12.3-inch instrument cluster & 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen), Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, Parking Assistant, BMW Gesture Control and 18-inch M light alloy wheels. The 330i Sport also misses out Mineral Grey & Portimao Blue exterior colour options.

However, what the 330i Sport does offer includes multiple drive modes, launch control, dynamic cruise control, LED headlamps & fog lamps, paddle gear shifters, electric sunroof, BMW Live Cockpit (5.7-inch analogue instrument cluster & an 8.8-inch centre information screen), tyre pressure indicator and a rear-view camera.
