MotoGP has released its schedule for the 2024 season, which will begin on March 10 and feature a record 22 rounds. This will include a second attempt in Kazakhstan. In 2024, the MotoGP championship will begin on March 8-10 in Qatar, marking a return to the opening round for the Middle Eastern country. On June 14-16, the first-ever Grand Prix of Kazakhstan will take place. The Sokol International Racetrack wasn't finished in time, therefore the inaugural race was postponed until the next year. Four Spanish sites will be featured on the calendar for the upcoming season: Jerez, Catalunya, Aragon, and Valencia (which will play host to the season finale from November 15–17). The Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary is also included but as a reserve racetrack until its official debut in 2025.

The British Grand Prix will kick off the second half of the season on August 4 at Silverstone, followed by the Austrian Grand Prix on August 18. The upcoming consecutive events of the year will commence on 1 September with the return of the Aragon Grand Prix, which was omitted from the current year's calendar, followed by the San Marino Grand Prix on 8 September. The second Indian GP will be held on September 22, despite initial rumours that it would be moved to October. It is part of a triple-header set that also includes Indonesia (on September 29) and Japan (on October 6).

After a week's break, on October 20, Thailand on October 27, and Malaysia on November 3, will make up the next tripleheader. On November 17, the Valencia GP will bring the campaign to a close. The commencement of pre-season testing for the year 2024 is scheduled to take place from the 6th to the 8th of February in Malaysia. This will be followed by an additional two-day testing session in Qatar, which is set to occur on the 19th and 20th of February.

The Buddh International Circuit was well received by the riders. However, the first-ever Indian Grand Prix this year was one of the most gruelling on riders' bodies due to the blazing temperatures (32–35 degrees Celsius all weekend) and high humidity. The conditions necessitated a one-lap cut from the MotoGP Sprint and junior class races and a three-lap cut from the MotoGP race on Sunday. But even so, we witnessed Jorge Martin struggle with dehydration in the last phases of the race.

It has been reported that in an effort to address these concerns, the race's organisers are considering rescheduling it to take place in October. The race dates are still set for September 20-22, at least for the time being. The Japanese, Australian, and Thai Grands Prix are all planned for October, which means that other races will need to be shifted around as well. This is just the preliminary calendar, and changes are expected later.
