The swanky GT-R50 will be put on sale for a few deep-pocketed GT-R enthusiasts.

The Nissan GT-R50 will make its world debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 12, 2018. The limited run, hand-built iteration of the GT-R has been given the green light for production. The production has been capped at 50 units.

The GT-R50, which is based on the GT-R Nismo, is estimated to start at about €900,000 (~ ₹7.27 crore). For comparison, that’s over five times the price of the standard GT-R Nismo. However, that stratospheric amount will get you an exclusive GT-R, which pumps 710 horsepower and 780Nm of torque, thanks to a pair of larger GT3-spec turbochargers. Additionally, the GT-R50 sports a host of other race-derived parts.

The unique GT-R50 is a result of the first-ever collaboration between Nissan and Italian engineering firm Italdesign. The car has been crafted to commemorate 50th anniversaries of both Italdesign and the GT-R nameplate. The GT-R50 visually differentiates itself from the stock car with its heavily reprofiled design, which includes facelifted front and rear, beefier creases and a genuine splash of golden accents.

‘The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the ideal setting to showcase the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign, which combines power and artistry to celebrate 50 years of inspiring the dreams of our customers,’ said Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan's senior vice president of global design. ‘Just like the prototype itself, Goodwood is a celebration of design, performance, a little indulgence and a lot of love of historic and future automotive creativity. It's the perfect setting to showcase a unique vehicle that will stir the imagination of people to dream even bigger.’
