Six airbags to be mandatory in all cars from October, 2022
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has revealed a plan for making six airbags mandatory on all passenger cars. As of now, this rule is expected to go into effect from October, 2022, and will see the cost of mass-market cars rise by Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000.
Hyundai Motor Group develops a new centre-side airbag
Hyundai has introduced a new centre-side airbag, which is deployed at the centre to provide side impact protection (in case there is no front passenger) to the driver or to avoid head injuries (in case a front passenger is present) to either front occupant by avoiding a collision between the two.
