TVS X Performance Electric Scooter Launched in India at Rs 2.50 Lakh

The new TVS X e-scooter has a sleek new design that gives it a sporty appearance. It reminds us of the Creon concept from back in the day. The new TVS X that has made it to production retains the concept's creases and cuts, as well as the concept's crisp body panels and young design approach.

TVS X Electric Scooter

TVS Motor Company has unveiled the TVS X, their top-of-the-line electric scooter. The TVS X, which debuted in Dubai at an initial price of Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom), is now India's most expensive electric scooter. After the iQube, this is the second electric alternative from the Indian brand, and it's clearly a step up in terms of both power and technology. The TVS X takes a lot of cues from the Creon concept from 2018, and that's exactly what it looks like. The TVS X will be available for booking on August 24 at midnight, with delivery beginning in December. Based on the brand-new Xleton platform, the TVS X is supposedly 2.5 times stiffer than regular scooters. Designed with the rider and pillion's comfort in mind, this model comes with split seats that are extra broad. There will be three different riding modes available on the electric scooter: Xtealth, Xtride, and Xonic. Regenerative braking will be available as an option for this electric scooter.

TVS X Electric Scooter: Design

The 'born electric' Xleton platform is the foundation for the TVS X. The scooter incorporates an aluminium alloy frame that supposedly provides a stiffness boost of 2.5 times compared to standard scooter frames. The TVS X is equipped with a telescopic fork in the front and an offset rear mono-shock, including a single-sided swingarm that exposes the wheel painted in black on one side.

The design is a notable departure from conventional norms and has a striking resemblance to the highly acclaimed Creon concept shown at the Auto Expo in 2018. One noteworthy remark is that the X does not possess a floorboard, but rather, the spine of the frame occupies that specific region. The X model has a split-seat configuration, a somewhat uncommon characteristic among scooters. Regarding the matter of storage capacity, it is remarkable that the under-seat compartment has a volume capacity of 19 litres.

TVS X: Powertrain and Price

TVS claims the TVS X can go from 0 to 40km/h in 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 105km/h. The ram-air-cooled permanent magnet mid-drive motor generates 7kW of continuous power, 11kW at full throttle, and 40Nm of peak torque. There will be a total of three ride modes: Xtealth, Xtride, and Xonic.

The X is equipped with a 3.8 kWh battery pack, providing the scooter with a maximum range of 140km. The X can get back to 50 percent charge in approximately an hour when using the 3 kW home charger, and 80 percent charge in around 3 hours and 40 minutes when using the 950-watt charger.

The FAME-II subsidy offered by the Indian government is not applicable since the scooter costs Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). There will be an additional fee of Rs 16,275 for a portable 950-watt charger, and a 3kW home charger will be available at added cost.
