Volvo Car India has released its sales figures for January to September 2023. The automaker experienced a 40% increase in the first three quarters of 2023. It sold 1,751 vehicles over the period, up from 1,251 units sold during the same time last year. Volvo claims that the XC60 and the XC40 Recharge contributed to the sales success, accounting for 35% and 24% of total sales, respectively. The XC60 is priced at Rs 67.85 lakh, while the XC40 Recharge is priced at Rs 56.90 lakh. Both of the prices are ex-showroom. Following the XC40, Volvo introduced its second electric vehicle, the C40 Recharge, to the market, which amassed roughly 100 reservations in the first month. Volvo XC60, XC40, and More Accumulated Massive Sales Numbers
Volvo stated that the XC60 and XC40 generated remarkable sales numbers for the first three quarters of 2023. The XC60 accounted for about 35% of total sales volume, according to Volvo. The all-electric XC40 Recharge, on the other hand, made up 24% of overall sales in the Jan-Sept period. For reference, the automaker sold 419 XC40s' during this period. The total EV contribution throughout this period was 27%.
Volvo currently offers five cars in India. There is a single sedan, the Volvo S90, as well as four sport utility vehicles, two of which are ICE-powered cars - the XC60 and the XC90, and the remaining two are fully electric -the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge. Volvo also indicated that it plans to transition to all-electric vehicles by 2030. According to market sources, it plans to phase out all diesel vehicles by 2024.

Volvo C40 Recharge: Mechanical Details
The brand-new Volvo C40 Recharge comes equipped with a 78kWh battery and two electric motors, one on each axle. The dual-electric motor configuration produces a total power output of 402bhp, as well as, a peak torque of 660Nm. With this, the electrified Volvo car claims to go from 0 to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster compared to its elder sibling, the Volvo XC40 Recharge.
