Volkswagen Group has touched the production milestone of one million units on a global level, thanks to its MEB (Modular Electric Drive Matrix ) electric platform, which was unveiled in 2018. It currently supports the ID.3, ID.4 electric SUV, ID.5, and ID.6. According to industry reports, this platform will be used as the foundation for the upcoming ID.7. Reports further suggest that this achievement has been made possible by the Group's five brands – Volkswagen, Audi, Cupra, Skoda, and Volkswagen commercials – and eight factories in the United States, Europe, and China.
In a recent development, Volkswagen unveiled the ID Buzz EV long-wheelbase model for the global market. The ID Buzz has made its entry into the international arena as the successor of the Samba Microbus. It is an MPV with three interior configurations: 5-, 6-, and 7-seat configurations, the latter of which will have a 2+3+2 layout. Dimensionally, it has a length of 4,962mm, which is 250mm longer than the base variant currently on sale in Europe. It has a wheelbase of 3,239mm. Mechanically, the new Volkswagen ID Buzz MPV gets two powertrain choices: a single-motor RWD and a dual-motor AWD. Let's take a look at more updates from the brand for different markets.
