TVS Motor Company Registers 14% YoY Total Two-wheeler Sales, Over 3.70 Lakh Units Sold

During August 2024, TVS' two-wheelers witnessed an increase of 14 per cent, reaching 378,841 total units compared to 332,110 units in August 2023.

Chennai-based TVS Motor Company has released its sales figures for August 2024. It registered a 13 per cent growth in its total sales of 391,588 units last month against 345,848 units in the same month a year ago. During the month in question, the total two-wheelers witnessed an increase of 14 per cent, reaching 378,841 units compared to 332,110 units in August 2023. 

Speaking of two-wheelers, domestic two-wheelers experienced a 13 per cent growth, with sales increasing from 256,619 units in August 2023 to 289,073 units in August 2024. Motorcycles and scooters contributed 170,486 units (up 11 per cent YoY) and 163,629 units (up 15 per cent YoY), respectively, while the electric vehicle (EV) retails in August 2024 at 24,779 units constituted 4 per cent YoY growth (August 2023: 23,887 units).

TVS currently sells two EVs in India – the iQube and the X. The former is available in 3 variants – standard, S, and ST – and ranges from Rs 94,999 to Rs 1,36,628 (both ex-showroom, Bengaluru), whereas the latter is priced at Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

On the exports front, TVS registered sales of 99,976 units in August 2024 as opposed to 87,515 units sold in August 2023. Two-wheeler exports showcased a YoY increase of 19 per cent to 89,768 units in August 2024. However, three-wheeler sales reported a decrease from 13,738 units to 12,747 units. 

Updated TVS Jupiter 110 Gets A Bigger Engine and New Design 

In other news, TVS recently launched the updated Jupiter 110 in India. At Rs 73,700 (starting price, ex-showroom), the 2024 Jupiter 110 brings a fresh design, new features, and a new engine with an integrated starter generator (ISG). It uses a bigger 113.5cc single-cylinder unit, which makes 8bhp at 6,500rpm and 9.8Nm of peak torque. Thanks to an 'iGo Assist' performance boost, the 2024 Jupiter 110 delivers more power and torque than the previous version.
