Toyota Kirloskar Motor Sales Drop 6% in April 2023

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has released its sales figures for April 2023. Contrary to March 2023's growth, the firm has witnessed a decline in sales this month. For a week in April 2023, the company closed operations for equipment and machinery maintenance.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced its sales numbers for April 2023. Last month, the carmaker registered a total sales of 15,510 units, including 14,162 domestic shipments and 1,348 units of global dispatches of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. 
The carmaker's domestic sales at the same time the previous year were 15,086 units. It has resulted in a decrease of 6% in sales. According to the carmaker, there were no exports during the same period last year. From April 24 to April 28, 2023, the business shut down for a week of maintenance to maintain its machinery and equipment. Contrary to this month's sales, the company witnessed strong sales in March 2023. It experienced a 9% year-over-year sales growth to 18,670 units. During the same time in 2022, the firm shipped 17,131 units in the domestic market. According to the carmaker, various models, including the Innova Hycross, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the Innova Crysta, and the Hilux, etc., enabled it to maintain strong sales in March 2023.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM): Future Plans 

According to industry reports, TKM intends to extend its manufacturing output by at least 20–30%, after producing 166,690 cars and SUVs and selling 173,245 units in FY2023. Reports further claim that the current fiscal year's production is anticipated to more than double to over 320,000 units. Additionally, TKM will add a third shift to its Bidadi factory beginning in the first week of May 2023. Its production capacity for the Innova, Fortuner, and Hycross would rise from 380 to 510 units per day as a result, boosting its overall capacity in India from 320,000 to 400,000 units annually.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM): Global Updates 

Toyota revealed the two bZ-born EV concepts at the most recent Shanghai Motor Show - the bZ4X crossover and the bZ3 sedan. According to the carmaker, they are the first two cars among the ten electrified vehicles that the company plans to introduce in China by 2026. In our market, the manufacturer did introduce the bZ4X at the most recent Auto Expo, but right now, it is mum regarding its EV intentions.
