Strong hybrid models are becoming more and more popular in the Indian market, and as part of the new FAME policy, the government intends to provide incentives to owners of hybrid vehicles. Toyota is currently offering an extensive range of hybrid cars in India, ranging from the opulent MPV Vellfire to the Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV. The carmaker has revealed the waiting duration for every model in its lineup for June. Toyota has found success with badge engineering, and the Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid is a good choice for anyone who wants to bring home a compact SUV. Toyota Hyryder SUV: Interior and Features
The Hyryder's dashboard is identical to that of the Baleno and the Glanza. The powerful hybrid model's cabin is decorated in black and brown, whereas the interior of the mild hybrid versions is all-black. Standard amenities include ventilated front seats, paddle shifters, ambient lighting, smartphone and smartwatch connectivity, and a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system. There's also a heads-up display, a panoramic sunroof, and wireless phone charging. The SUV further has a plethora of safety features, such as vehicle stability control, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, a TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system), and up to six airbags.
Toyota Hyryder SUV: Powertrain Options
When paired with an eCVT gearbox, the 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson Cycle engine in the Toyota SUV produces 92bhp and 122Nm of peak torque. The engine and electric motor produce 114bhp combined, with the motor adding 79bhp and 141Nm of torque. The manufacturer says that the powerful hybrid drivetrain achieves a fuel efficiency of 27.97km/l. Notably, a 117.6V lithium-ion battery powers the system. The Hyryder can also be powered by a mild hybrid drivetrain. It has the same 1.5-litre K15C engine as the Ertiga and Brezza. The Neo Drive motor is compatible with both the six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and the five-speed manual gearbox. This yields a maximum power of 103bhp and 137Nm of peak torque.

Toyota Hyryder SUV: Exterior and Competition Check
The popular Toyota car stands out in terms of style thanks to the elegant double-layer Daytime Running lights incorporated into the Crystal Acrylic grille. From the side, the car sports a conventional SUV design, with the doors prominently displaying hybrid logos. Additionally, it features two C-shaped LED components on the back of its stylish C-shaped taillights.
In the Indian market, the Hyryder SUV competes with several notable models, including the Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
