Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor

The Urban Cruiser Taisor is the Japanese carmaker's latest model in the Indian market. The compact SUV, which was developed as a result of the Toyota-Suzuki collaboration, is essentially the same as the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, except for a few minor cosmetic and interior tweaks. The car is offered with two engine options: a 1.2-litre four-cylinder K-series petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit. The former produces 88.5bhp of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque, while the latter generates 98.6bhp of power and 147.6Nm of maximum torque. A CNG variant (76.44bhp and 98.5Nm) is also on offer. The gearbox options include a five-speed AMT, a five-speed manual, and a six-speed torque converter automatic. The pricier models with the turbo-petrol engine are being offered at around Rs 65,000 off, while the less powerful 1.2-litre petrol engine models are significantly less discounted.

Toyota Glanza

With the addition of a petrol-CNG option, the Glanza, which is a Maruti Suzuki Baleno twin, has been a consistent sales driver for Toyota and is currently gaining traction in the fleet sector as well. Depending on stock, Toyota dealers are providing incentives and discounts worth Rs 68,000 for the high-end hatchback. The sole available engine for the Glanza is a 1.2-litre petrol unit with 88.5bhp, just like the Taisor. However, there are no advantages for the CNG versions.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder

The Maruti SuzukiToyota partnership also produced the Toyota Hyryder, which comes in petrol, petrol hybrid, and CNG variants. Several dealers are providing Rs 75,000 discounts for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, with top-of-the-line models getting additional offers. It is available for purchase with a considerably shorter waiting period than its Maruti Suzuki sibling, the Grand Vitara.

The midsize SUV has three different powerplant options under the hood. First up is a 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson Cycle engine that produces 92bhp and 122Nm of peak torque when coupled to an eCVT. The mill puts out 114bhp of maximum power when paired with the 79bhp electric motor. According to Toyota, this robust hybrid system has a fuel efficiency of 27.97km/l and is powered by a 117.6V lithium-ion battery. The second is a mild hybrid system that includes a motor known as "Neo Drive" in addition to the 1.5-litre K15C engine that drives the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Either a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox or a five-speed manual gearbox is coupled to this unit. The third is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine that can be paired with a manual gearbox. The last option is available with the base-spec variants.

The Fortuner is also available with appealing dealer-level benefits. A discount of about Rs 1-1.5 lakh is being offered on the SUV at certain retailers. Higher variants, such as the renowned Fortuner Legender, are available with incentives totalling roughly Rs 2 lakh. However, there are no deals on the top-tier Fortuner GR, which is made-to-order.

On the mechanical front, the Fortuner has two engine and transmission options. A 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine produces 201bhp of maximum power and 500Nm of peak torque in automatic variants and 420Nm in manual versions. The second engine option is a 2.7-litre NA petrol engine that develops 245Nm of maximum torque and 164bhp of peak power. It can be coupled to either a six-speed torque converter automatic or a five-speed manual transmission. The diesel engine can be equipped with either a six-speed torque converter automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. The diesel version has four-wheel drive along with an auto-limited slip differential and a lockable differential.

Toyota Hilux

Toyota Hilux

There has been a gradual increase in the Hilux pickup's appeal among off-roading and lifestyle enthusiasts. Nonetheless, the model remains a niche car and is available in most places with savings of about Rs 5 lakh. Depending on the availability, some dealers are providing additional advantages. Under the hood, the Hilux comes with a 2.8-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that can be paired with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The MT models deliver 420Nm of maximum torque and 201bhp of peak power. The AT variants, on the other hand, produce 500Nm while retaining the same power output as the MT versions. Furthermore, the Hilux offers a 4X4 drive system with front and rear electronic differential locking.
