Toyota's Global Production Milestone: Corolla Shines as the Best-Seller
Since its introduction in 1966, the Toyota Corolla has had several improvements and changes, which, according to reports, have increased its popularity and solidified its place in the brand's lineup. With 54 million units, the sedan is Toyota’s most-produced vehicle so far.
The company claims that in the face of adversities such as fires, natural disasters, the COVID-19 pandemic, and chip shortages, the brand has managed to improve and change for the good. Its loyal employees and clientele are the reasons it has managed to persevere amid all kinds of challenges.
Toyota's Global Production Milestone: What the Company Has to Say?
Mr Koji Sato, the company’s President, said, ‘I believe that this number of 300 million units could only have been achieved with the unending effort of colleagues across the company, from part and vehicle planning and design to production, logistics, sales, and service, along with all those working to support each step. All our colleagues have overcome countless challenges. Recent years alone have seen natural disasters like the Great East Japan Earthquake, unpredictable events like fires, or the COVID-19 pandemic, and chip shortages. Every time we faced the danger of being unable to make cars, everyone worked together to restore or adapt production.’
He further added, ‘In the future, we will be sure never to forget all those who have supported us and give our all to making better cars and bringing smiles to customers' faces.’
