Thar, Scorpio-N, Bolero and More Fuel Mahindra's YoY Sales Growth to 40% in February

In February 2024, Mahindra sold a total of 72,923 units, marking a notable 24% year-on-year growth. The new Mahindra Thar Earth Edition was also introduced to our market in the previous month.

Mahindra has announced sales numbers for February. With international shipments included, the automaker's total sales for the previous month reached 72,923, showing a YoY growth of 24%. Mahindra's Utility Vehicles sector sold 42,401 vehicles domestically, marking a year-on-year increase of 40%. Overall, it sold 42,941 vehicles, including exports. Mahindra states that the Scorpio N, Bolero, XUV700, and Thar were among the best-performing models at the time. Between April and February 2024, the manufacturer's year-to-date (YTD) sales increased by 31%, with 4,19,233 units sold. In the same period last year, the carmaker delivered 3,23,985 vehicles. Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., “We sold a total of 42401 SUVs in February, with a growth of 40% and 72923 total vehicles, a 24% growth over last year. In our endeavour to make some of our SUVs available faster to consumers, we launched the Scorpio N Z8S variant and the Thar Earth edition this month.”

Mahindra January 2024 Sales: A Quick Recap

Mahindra sold a total of 73,944 vehicles in January (including exports and CVS), a 15% increase over the same period last year. With 43,068 SUVs sold domestically, the automaker saw a 31% growth in the sector. However, it sold 43,866 SUVs overall during the same month, including exports.

Mahindra Thar Earth Edition

Mahindra launched the Thar Earth Edition in India last month, with a starting price of Rs 15.40 lakh (ex-showroom). The edition comes with several cosmetic enhancements such as 'Desert Fury,' paintwork, dunes-inspired graphics, Earth Edition emblems on B-pillars, and silver alloy wheels. All of these external changes distinguish new Thar Earth Edition from the standard model. 

The interior of the special edition sports a light beige and black theme. In addition, there are dark chrome accents all around, dune patterns on the headrests, and the Thar logo on the doors. The car also comes with accents painted in Desert Fury on the steering wheel, center console, and AC vents. Further, a distinctively numbered decorative VIN plate is included with every unit of the variant.
