Thar, Scorpio, Bolero and More Help Mahindra Record 9% YoY Sales Growth in August

According to Mahindra, its domestic passenger vehicle (PV) sales increased by 16% to 43,277 units last month from 37,270 units in August last year.

Mahindra has announced that its overall wholesales in August reached 76,755 units, up 9% year-on-year (YoY). In the same month last year, the company dispatched a total of 70,350 units to dealers. According to a statement from the leading homegrown car manufacturer, its domestic passenger vehicle (PV) sales increased by 16% to 43,277 units last month from 37,270 units in August last year. Furthermore, the total exports grew by 26% to 3,060 units last month, up from 2,423 units the previous year. The company reported total tractor sales of 21,917 units last month compared to 21,676 units sold the year before, representing a slight 1% sales increase.

Mahindra Thar Roxx Finally Arrives on the Market 

The Mahindra Thar Roxx, which went on sale a few weeks back, is unquestionably the most popular SUV of the year. The new Thar received several stylistic changes along with significant modifications to the interior and powertrain options. The starting price of the new Thar Roxx is Rs 12.99 lakh for the petrol range and Rs 13.99 lakh for the diesel range. Both mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures.

The off-roader SUV has two engine options: a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, mStallion turbo-petrol unit and a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, mHawk diesel unit. The former belts out 160bhp of maximum power and 330Nm of peak torque, while the latter develops 150bhp and 330Nm of maximum torque. Interested buyers can choose from six-speed manual and automatic gearbox options.

As far as the exterior is concerned, the Thar Roxx sports elements like a redesigned grille, projector headlamps, circular fog lights, dual-tone alloy wheels, rear-door mounted handles, and C-shaped LED DRLs. It also has a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate and rectangular LED taillights. The feature set of the car comprises a fully digital colour instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment panel, rear AC vents, dual-tone upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, and ventilated front seats.

Lastly, when it comes to market rivalry, the Thar Roxx takes on the likes of the Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door, Force Gurkha 5-door, Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate.
