Keeping a tab on waiting periods is no new task for a buyer. Several models, including the old and new, have a heavy waiting time in our market. Currently, we got hands over the waiting duration for the two most well-liked models from the house of Tata Motors, the Tigor, and the Punch. You must wait six weeks to get your hands on these cars. The Tigor, which has a starting price of Rs 6.30 lakh (ex-showroom), has a waiting period of up to 4 weeks, while the Punch with a beginning price of Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom), has a maximum waiting time of up to six weeks in Mumbai.

Mechanically, the Punch employs a 1.2-litre petrol engine to deliver 87bhp and 115. In CNG mode, the same unit offers 72bhp and 103Nm. The petrol versions get a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox choice, while the CNG variants come with only a 5-speed manual transmission. Speaking of the Tigor, the car at its heart gets a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine with the option of a company-installed CNG kit. The motor produces 113Nm of torque and 85bhp of power in standard mode. In contrast, the unit is calibrated to produce 72bhp and 95Nm when operating on CNG. Both an AMT and a five-speed manual gearbox are available for transmission.

Tata Punch EV to Make Its Way During Festive Season

Tata Motors is working on the electrified version of the Punch, which reportedly will have its launch during this festive season. Ahead of its launch, the model has caught the attention of markets with its multiple spy shots that surfaced online. According to the most recent images, the electric Punch appears to get new alloy wheels. Design-wise, the model will not undergo significant alterations, except for a few minor ones. Reportedly, the car will have a 360-degree parking camera, a fresh two-spoke steering wheel, new aerodynamic alloy wheels, disc brakes on all four wheels, and more features.

There is yet no precise information regarding the mechanical specs. However, the Punch EV, according to market reports, will be the brand's first electric vehicle to be built on the ALFA platform. With a 25kWh battery pack, it is anticipated to have a driving range of 250–300 kilometre on a single charge.

Prices for the electric Punch are expected to be announced during this festive season. Speculations are doing rounds on the internet that the homegrown automaker might introduce the EV at Rs 10 lakh, which would make it the most reasonably priced e-SUV in the country.
