The Tata Punch is a popular 5-seater SUV in India, with a current waiting period of 4 to 6 weeks from the date of reservation. However, it is important to note that the stated time frame is exclusive to the Mumbai region. The Renault Kiger competitor is available in seven exterior paint options such as Tornado Blue, Calypso Red, Meteor Bronze, Atomic Orange, Tropical Mist, Daytona Grey, and Orcus White. It features a 366-litre cargo capacity and a ground clearance of 187mm. Tata Motors launched the electrified version of the Punch in India in January of this year. The electrified Punch competes in its segment with the Citroen eC3, with prices ranging from Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Here are some prominent features of the non-electric Punch, which has a prolonged waiting period in Mumbai.

Tata Punch: Powertrain, Features and Price

The Tata Punch is equipped with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine which can also be fitted with a CNG kit. The motor produces 84bhp and 113Nm while running on petrol. However, in CNG mode, it generates 72bhp and 103Nm. The car's petrol version offers a 5-speed manual transmission and an AMT unit, while the CNG model only has a manual gearbox.

The Tata Punch SUV is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen display with linked car technologies, cruise control, automatic air conditioning, and a 7-inch semi-digital instrument display. It includes rear defoggers, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and ISOFIX anchors for safety. The ex-showroom price of the Punch in India ranges from Rs 6.13 lakh to Rs 10.20 lakh.

Tata Punch: Best-Selling SUV in February

Tata Motors' five-seater Punch was the best-selling SUV in February, with 18,438 units sold, up 65.08% from 11,169 delivered in February 2023. Notably, the Punch was the top-selling SUV and the second-best-selling vehicle overall in January of this year. It experienced an impressive 50% YoY rise, with a monthly sales volume of 17,978 units.

A Facelift For Punch Is On The Way?

A test mule of the revised Tata Punch was seen on Indian roads earlier this month. The spy images revealed significant modifications to the SUV's front, which looks sharper than the current iteration. The facelift is expected to come with revised headlights, altered DRLs, a new grille design, modified front and rear bumpers, improved alloy wheels, and reworked taillights.
