The Tata Nexon is one of the best-selling compact SUVs in the country. With 15,002 units sold, the SUV beat the Hyundai Creta, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and others to take the pole position in sales in April 2023. From 13,471 units sold in April 2022 to 15,002 units in April 2023, the sales of the Nexon SUV increased by 11.37 per cent year-over-year. Ranging between Rs 7.80 lakh and Rs 12.45 lakh (ex-showroom), the Nexon is offered across manual and automatic variants. As of now, the manual variants are currently seeing a waiting period of about 3 to 4 weeks in India. As for the automatic variants, buyers have to wait for about 5 to 7 weeks to receive the SUV. It is important to note that the waiting period may differ, depending on the region, variant, availability, and other factors.

In order to adhere to stricter BS6 Phase II or RDE norms, the carmaker recently updated the powertrains of the Tata Nexon SUV. Under the hood, the SUV gets two engine options: a 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The turbo petrol cranks out 118bhp of maximum power and 170Nm of peak torque. The diesel unit, on the other hand, delivers 108bhp and 260Nm. Transmission duties are carried out by a 6-speed manual and an optional AMT.
Tata Nexon SUV: Features
On the feature front, the Nexon includes a flat-bottom steering wheel, a 7.0-inch infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, an air purifier, automatic climate control, cruise control, etc. As far as safety goes, the SUV is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability programme (ESP), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child-seat anchors.
For those unaware, the Nexon SUV is the first Indian car to achieve a five-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test, and since 2018, the Tata Nexon has prioritised safety with a seatbelt reminder (as standard) for all occupants.
Tata Nexon SUV: Price, Competition
In the Indian market, the Nexon is available at a starting price of Rs 7.80 lakh and goes up to Rs 12.45 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. In terms of rivalry, the Nexon is Tata's answer to the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, the Hyundai Venue, the Mahindra XUV400, the Kia Sonet, the Renault Kiger, etc.

Tata Nexon Facelift: India Launch Details
According to market reports, Tata is gearing up to launch the updated iteration of the Nexon SUV in 2023 in the Indian market. However, there is no confirmation from the carmaker as yet. The Nexon will undergo an extensive redesign, covering both the inside and exterior. The test mule of the Nexon SUV has been spotted on several occasions.
