Tata Nexon, Nexon.ev Facelift Waiting Period Reaches up to 8 Weeks in India

The demand for the 2023 Nexon, the Nexon.ev increases in the Indian market with the extended waiting period. Both the SUVs feature a host of updates over their respective predecessors.

Tata Motors launched the much-anticipated Nexon and the Nexon.ev Facelifts in India on 14 September 2023. These Tata SUVs, with starting pricing of Rs 8.10 lakh and Rs 14.74 lakh, respectively, come with a pool of upgrades over their predecessors. The Nexon has always been a profitable product for the domestic automaker, as indicated by its sales success. Now, it appears that the facelift versions are keeping up with the success of their predecessors, with a waiting period of up to 8 weeks. The Nexon and Nexon.ev command a six to eight-week waiting period from the day of booking. It is worth noting that this waiting time applies just to Mumbai and may vary depending on a number of factors. Here is detailed information on the updated versions of the ICE and the electrified models of the Nexon SUV.

2023 Tata Nexon, Nexon.ev: Mechanical Specifications

On the mechanical side, the new Nexon hasn't seen any major change. Under the skin, the SUV provides the same options: the 1.5-litre diesel motor with 113bhp and 260Nm and the 1.2-litre turbocharged gasoline engine with 118bhp and 170Nm. However, the only modification is that the turbo-petrol engine includes more gearbox choices, such as a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT, and a 7-speed DCT. The diesel unit, on the other hand, comes with two gearbox options: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT. 

Moving on, the Nexon. ev is available in two battery pack arrangements: Medium Range and Long Range. The Medium-Range model has a smaller 30kWh battery, whereas the Long-Range variant has a bigger 40.5kWh battery. According to the ARAI, the MR and LR have driving ranges of 325 and 465 kilometres, respectively, which is an enhancement of 12 kilometre over previous numbers. 

In terms of performance, the MR variant produces 127bhp of maximum power and 215Nm of peak torque, while the LR variant produces 143bhp and 215Nm. Notably, the power outputs have not changed, but torque has dipped by 30Nm on the MR model and by 38Nm on the LR version.

Tata Nexon: Top-Selling SUV in September 2023

Last month, the Tata Nexon was the best-selling SUV in our market. It recently received a design and functionality makeover for 2023. Tata Motors delivered 15,325 Nexon cars in the last month, up from 14,518 units in the same month in 2022, showing a 6% year-over-year rise. The all-new Nexon, which was released last month, includes a number of improvements and is likely to keep its sales game strong in the future.
