Maruti Suzuki India Limited disclosed sales figures for April 2023. The previous month, the carmaker maintained its dominance in the passenger vehicle arena. It sold a total of 160,529 units in April 2023. Domestic market sales last month were 1,37,320 units, an increase of 12.56% year over year over the 1,21,995 units sold in April 2022. There was a 15,325 unit increase in volume. Further, its overall export sales fell by 1,442 units from 18,413 units in April 2022 to 16,971 units in April 2023. On an MoM basis, the carmaker reported an increase. According to Maruti Suzuki, MoM sales increased by 4,557 units, or 3.43%, from the 1,32,763 units sold in March 2023. Maruti Suzuki Sales April 2023: Key Highlights
From 76,321 units sold in April 2022 to 89,045 vehicles sold the previous month, sales in the micro and compact categories rose by 16.7%. In the micro-segment, Maruti Suzuki deals in the Alto and S-Presso, while in the compact class, the company offers the Dzire, Ignis, Baleno, Celerio, Swift, WagonR, and Tour S. From 17,137 units sold at the same time last year to 14,110 units sold in April 2023, sales of the Alto and S-Presso declined. However, the company in the compact range delivered 74,935 units in April 2023 compared to 59,184 in the same month the year before. Moreover, the Ciaz led the mid-size sedan sector with 1,017 sales last month, an increase from 579 units delivered in April 2022. Thus, the combined sales of these three segments increased from 76,900 units in April 2022 to 90,062 units in April 2023.
In the SUV segment, the carmaker offers Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross, XL6, Grand Vitara, and the new Fronx. According to the firm, the SUV category saw an increase in sales of 8.3% to 36,754 units in April 2023 from 33,941 units sold in April 2022. Further, the firm reported that it sold 10,504 units of Eeco vans last month, representing a YoY decline from 11,154 units in April 2022.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Launched in India
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx was finally launched by the automaker in India, after much anticipation. The entry-level Sigma model costs Rs 7.47 lakh, while the more expensive Alpha turbo version is priced at Rs 13.14 lakh. These are both ex-showroom prices. Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha are the five trims of Maruti Suzuki's new SUV. In India, the Fronx competes with the Renault Kiger, the Nissan Magnite, the Tata Punch, and the Citroen C3.
