It All Began With Suzulight
Launched in October 1955, Japan's first mass-production mini vehicle – the Suzulight – marked the beginning of Suzuki's involvement in the passenger car category. Since then, the brand has continuously adapted its product lines to changing customer needs and preferences. Plus, Suzuki also forayed into the compact vehicle segment with the Fronte 800, which made its debut in 1965.
Overseas sales began in 1959 with the export of the Suzulight. Suzuki's first overseas automobile production started in Pakistan in the year 1975. Since then, the brand has expanded its production bases worldwide, which include the establishment of plants in India in 1983 and Hungary in 1992. As of now, Suzuki Motor Corporation has 15 automobile production facilities in 10 countries, including Japan. And about 184 countries and regions across the world favour Suzuki automobiles.
