Suzuki Motorcycle India Registers 22% YoY Sales Growth in December with 96,804 Units

Suzuki Motorcycle India achieved a remarkable 22% year-on-year sales growth in December 2024, with total sales reaching 96,804 units. This impressive performance underscores the company’s consistent market expansion and increasing customer demand for its two-wheeler offerings. The growth was driven by strong domestic sales and a notable rise in exports, highlighting Suzuki’s appeal across markets. Popular models like Access 125 and Burgman Street played a significant role in boosting the company’s numbers. This sales milestone reaffirms the brand’s strong presence in the competitive Indian two-wheeler market and its ongoing commitment to meeting diverse consumer needs.

Suzuki Motorcycle India Sales Figures: December 2024

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) ended 2024 with total sales of 96,804 units, reflecting a 22% increase from the 79,483 units sold in December 2023. Domestic sales for the month climbed to 78,834 units, a 14% growth compared to 69,025 units in the corresponding period last year. Exports witnessed a substantial surge of 72%, with 17,970 units shipped internationally, up from 10,458 units in December 2023.

Sharing his thoughts on the company's latest sales performance, Devashish Handa, Executive Vice President – Sales, Marketing, and After Sales, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. commented, 'We have been experiencing consistent year-on-year growth every month and December has been no exception. This reflects the growing preference for our products amongst two-wheeler users and a recognition of the quality of Sales and After Sales experience that our dealerships have been able to provide our customers. We express our sincere gratitude towards our customers for their growing patronage, which has been the biggest motivator in our efforts to deliver products and services of superior quality.'

Suzuki Access 125 Hits 60 Lakh Unit Sales Milestone

Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMI) has achieved a significant milestone by crossing 60 lakh units of the Access 125 sold in India. Introduced in 2006, the scooter took 18 years to reach this landmark. The Access 125 is offered in three variants: Standard, Special Edition, and Ride Connect Edition. The Standard variant is available with drum or disc brakes, priced at Rs 80,700 and Rs 85,601, respectively. The Special Edition costs Rs 87,402, while the top-of-the-line Ride Connect Edition is priced at Rs 91,800. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom. 

On the mechanical front, the Access 125 is powered by a 124cc, E20-compliant, air-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 8.50bhp of maximum power and 10Nm of peak torque. It features a 90/90-12 front tyre, a 90/100-10 rear tyre, and an ARAI-certified mileage of 45km/l.

Key highlights include a USB charging port (exclusive to the Ride Connect Edition), a front storage rack, LED lighting for the headlamp, indicators, an engine start/stop button, an external chrome fuel lid, Suzuki Easy Start, a tail lamp, a Bluetooth-enabled digital console, and a side-stand interlock.
