Stellantis has introduced the STLA Frame platform, designed for electric trucks and SUVs. This new architecture enables a range of up to 805 km on a single charge, marking a significant advancement in electric vehicle (EV) technology. The STLA Frame is built to support larger, body-on-frame vehicles in the US and other markets, making it suitable for electric pickup trucks and SUVs. With this platform, Stellantis aims to offer long-range performance and flexibility, meeting the needs of consumers looking for durable and practical electric vehicles. This launch is a key step in Stellantis’ push to expand its electric vehicle lineup and compete in the growing global EV market.
Sharing his thoughts on the new platform, Carlos Tavares, CEO, of Stellantis Group, remarked, 'Like STLA Medium and STLA Large, STLA Frame combines an unprecedented range with new levels of capability and performance to offer best-in-class range, payload and towing for our customers who need reliable and powerful trucks and SUVs, to haul their families or power their businesses. With full EV and extended-range EV tech coming soon, we’re bringing ‘no compromise’ solutions to buyers who may be hesitant to try their first electric vehicle. We’re proud of this engineering marvel and look forward to seeing it come to life in our upcoming product blitz on Jeep and Ram.'

Stellantis STLA Frame: Key Aspects
The STLA Frame is Stellantis' third modular platform, following the STLA Medium and STLA Large. The company is also working on a fourth platform, the STLA Small, set to debut by 2026. Like the Medium and Large platforms, the STLA Frame is designed to support a variety of powertrains, including internal combustion, hybrid, hydrogen, battery electric, and range-extender vehicles, though the initial models will focus on all-electric and range-extender versions.
The STLA Frame platform is expected to enable EVs with a range of up to 800 km, while range-extender models could achieve up to 1,100 km. It will support payloads up to 1,224 kg and towing capacities of up to 6,350 kg. Vehicles built on the STLA Frame will range from 5,400mm to 6,000mm in length, with wheelbases up to 3,690mm.

In terms of mechanicals, the STLA Frame will be compatible with battery packs ranging from 159 to 200kWh, paired with electric drive modules producing up to 335bhp for all-wheel-drive capability.
The 800V electric systems of the all-electric versions will enable up to 350 kW DC rapid charging, which will add up to 161 km of range in just ten minutes. In contrast, range-extender vehicles will have a 400V electric architecture with a lower rating that supports up to 175 kW DC fast charging. Bi-directional charging will also be supported by the platform, enabling customers to feed electricity back into the grid from their batteries. Stellantis claims that vehicles using this platform can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds. Additionally, it will support various suspension systems, including air suspension.
