Kia sold 21,300 cars in June 2024, registering a significant growth of 9.8% from the previous year's 19,391 units. In the first half of 2024, the company sold 1,26,137 units, up 6% from the previous year's quarter. The Kia Sonet was the best-selling model throughout this period, accounting for 43% of the total. It was followed by the Seltos and the Carens, with 32% and 25% respectively. The automaker's exports reached 12,026 units in H1 2024, with 3,206 units shipped in June.
Sharing his thoughts on the sales achievement, Hardeep Singh Brar – Senior Vice President and National Head of Sales & Marketing said 'We have observed a healthy month-on-month sales growth in H1 2024, averaging over 21,000 units per month. Our superior product offerings have consistently attracted customers to our showrooms throughout the year, maintaining a strong sales position. We are committed to sustaining this positive trend for the remainder of the year through network expansion and by adding value to our customers' aspirations.'

Kia India May 2024 Sales
In May 2024, the company's sales increased 3.9% year-over-year to 19,500 units. The Sonet, was the top-selling model, with 7,433 units sold, followed by the Seltos and Carens, which registered 6,736 and 5,316 units, respectively. During this period, the company delivered 2,304 units to overseas markets, bringing its overall output to 21,804 cars.

The new Sonet is priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 15.75 lakh in India (both, ex-showroom). It is available with three engine options: 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.2-litre petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. The 1.2-litre petrol mill features a single 5-speed manual gearbox, while the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit comes with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT. The diesel unit, on the other hand, has the most gearbox options, with a six-speed manual, six-speed iMT, and torque converter automatic transmission.

Other Kia Developments
Kia India reached an overall export benchmark of 2.50 lakh made-in-India cars in June. Since 2019, Kia claims to have supplied 2,55,133 units from its Anantapur production site in Andhra Pradesh to over 100 overseas markets, including South Africa, Chile, Paraguay, and Latin America, among others. Since the electrified EV6 is an imported model, the company currently dispatches the Sonet, the Seltos, and the Carens. Notably, the Carnival MPV is not currently on sale, but the fourth-generation model is slated to arrive in India around the festive season, with an expected price tag between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
