Sonet, Seltos, Carens and More Assist Kia India Record 2.5% Year-on-Year Sales Growth in July

Internationally, Kia sold 2,500 vehicles last month, with the Seltos accounting for 932 units. The Sonet and Carens followed, with 740 units and 833 units, respectively.

Kia India registered a growth of 2.5% year-on-year in July 2024, with 20,507 cars sold in the domestic market. In the same month last year, the company delivered 20,002 units in India. The Sonet SUV remained the highest-selling model during the month, with 9,459 units sold. It was accompanied by the Carens (5,679 units) and the Seltos (5,347 units). In July 2024, Kia outperformed the industry average by a considerable margin. According to Vahan, the company saw a rise of 26% against the industry average of 9%.

Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President and National Head of Sales & Marketing, said, 'We have registered a healthy Y-o-Y sales growth in July 2024, a good head-start for the Q3 and H2 of the year. This reflects the trust and love the customers have in Kia.'

Kia India June 2024 Sales: A Brief Glance

Kia sold 21,300 vehicles in June 2024, which was an increase of 9.8% over the 19,391 cars sold last year. In the first half of 2024, it delivered 1,26,137 units, up 6% from the previous year's quarter. The Sonet sold the most during the period, making up 43% of the total. The Seltos and Carens followed, with 32% and 25%, respectively. Kia's exports stood at 12,026 units in H1 2024, with 3,206 units shipped in June.

Upcoming Kia Car Launches

Several Kia cars, including the new Carens, EV9, and Carnival, are slated to arrive in India soon, although official launch dates are yet to be announced. According to several previous spy shots, the Carens MPV Facelift will have some noticeable external changes with its new look, including revised headlights, a modified front bumper, and fresh L-shaped LED taillights. On the other hand, Kia's other highly anticipated model, the EV9 will be constructed on the brand's E-GMP platform. Its base RWD variant will most likely use a single 215bhp motor and a 76.1kWh battery, with a driving range of 541 kilometres. A dual-motor option with a combined output of 380bhp could also be available.

The new Carnival MPV is expected to come with several new features and a sleeker, more contemporary look. Although the updated model's price is unknown at this time, it may cost between Rs 32 lakh and Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
