Kia Carens EV Spotted in India
The Kia Carens EV has been sighted testing in India for the first time, raising excitement ahead of its scheduled launch. The most recent, heavily camouflaged test mule, indicates a number of significant upgrades, one of which is an upgraded suspension system that should improve handling and ride quality. Unlike the EV6 and EV9, which are built on a dedicated electric skateboard platform, the Carens EV will share its platform with the existing petrol and diesel models.
Many components, including the body shell, panels, and interior features, will be carried over from the internal combustion engine version. However, the electric model will have some notable differences, such as redesigned front and rear bumpers and alloy wheels similar to those on Kia’s electric vehicles. The test mule also reveals a unique rear suspension setup and the absence of an exhaust pipe, confirming its electric nature. While the brand has not yet announced the launch date of the Carens EV, it will likely reach our shores by the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026. The model is expected to be priced between Rs 22 lakh and Rs 26 lakh (ex-showroom).
