Kia India released its sales figures for March 2023. The carmaker reported selling a total of 21,501 units in the previous month, compared to 22,622 units at the same time last year, showing a decrease of 4.96%. However, the manufacturer registered a 44% sales growth for FY 2022-23. It sold 2,69,229 units during the 2022–23 fiscal year, up from 1,86,787 units in the previous year. On an MoM basis, the company witnessed a drop of 12.60% from 24,600 units sold in Feb 2023. In Q4 2022–23, a total of 74,735 units were sold, giving the company its highest market share of 7.4 percent ever. It was a 24.4 percent increase over the sales in Q4 21–22. Comparing sales in the final quarter of the year to the same quarter the previous year, exports increased by 22%. In FY2023, exports totaled 85,754 units, compared to 6,200 units in March 2023.
Kia India Sales Breakdown March 2023
The firm sold 8,677 units of the Kia Sonet in March 2023. Compared to the 6,871 units sold in March 2022, which represented a volume increase of 1,806 units, it witnessed a YoY rise of 26.28%. Sonet now controls a share of 40.36%, up from 39.98% in February 2023, when sales stood at 8,836 units.

The Kia Seltos witnessed YoY and MoM decrease by 22.12% and 18.20%, respectively. In March 2023, 6,554 units of the Sonet were sold, compared to the 8,415 units in March 2022, demonstrating 1,861 unit volume de-growth. In February 2023, the carmaker reported selling 8,012 units, representing a volume de-growth of 1,458 units. This lowered the market share from 32.57% (Feb 2023) to 30.48% in the previous month.
Coming to the Kia Carens, the carmaker reported that its sales decreased by 12.93% YoY last month, from 7,008 units sold in March 2022 to 6,102 units delivered in the previous month. From 6,248 units sold in February 2023, MoM sales were down 2.34%. However, The Carens saw an increase in its share percentage over the previous month, going from 25.40% held in February 2023 to 28.38%. The Kia Carnival, on the other hand, witnessed a decrease in both YoY and MoM sales of 48.78% and 66.67%, respectively.
